After an exposure

If you are not immune to hepatitis B and were exposed through sex or a needle-stick, vaccination and sometimes immunoglobulin can protect you, and work best when given quickly. There is no preventive treatment for hepatitis C, so timed testing is what matters.

Testing

A blood test shows whether you have hepatitis B or C, or are immune to hepatitis B. After an exposure, your physician will time follow-up tests to cover the window period.

Ongoing care

If you test positive, we coordinate specialist referral, medication and monitoring tests, collected at home. Hepatitis C can now be cured in most people with a course of tablets.
